I am a registered genetic counsellor (HPCSA registration number: GC0000752), specialising in prenatal, cancer, paediatric, and adult genetic services. I completed my MMedSc Genetic Counselling degree and internship through the University of Cape Town, which provided me with extensive clinical training and hands-on experience working with individuals and families across a range of settings.
Before specialising in genetic counselling, I completed both a BSc Honours and MSc in Human Genetics at Stellenbosch University. This advanced scientific training gave me a strong foundation in understanding genetic conditions, human variation, and research. Combined with my clinical training in counselling, this background has equipped me with a deep understanding of both the science and the human experience of genetics.
Together, this training has equipped me to translate complex genetic information into clear, compassionate guidance; supporting individuals and families to make informed decisions about their health, and offering appropriate genetic testing when needed.
I am passionate about providing empathetic, evidence-based care to every person I meet, and I look forward to helping you navigate your own genetic journey with confidence.
